Programme Note
I’ve used the term fabric to refer to the basic structure and make-up of society, culture, or an individual. An individual’s fabric is one made from an array of cultures and identities, countries and borders, ethnicities and races, with every new generation made even more diverse than the last. In this miniature, the diversity of different playing techniques, objects, styles, and the very geography of the piano come together to create a unique and new identity.
